The  Taste of New Tampa® 2012 was held on Sunday, March 11th.  In it’s 19th year, this was the New Tampa event to attend! Local residents enjoyed a day of sampling, sipping and mingling at the event hosted at Wharton High School, 20150 Bruce B Downs Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33647 from 1-4pm.  (The event was relocated to Wharton High School due to logistical restrictions at the Shops at Wiregrass.)

New Tampa celebrated its food, its people and its extraordinary quality of life at the 19th Annual Taste of New Tampa®. It’s the best spring party of New Tampa… You get to taste samples of signatures dishes, tantalizing desserts, delicious and diverse offerings from the top participating restaurants, ice cream shops, cafes and other local businesses.

A tradition since 1993 The Taste of New Tampa raises money for community projects; proceeds benefit chamber projects to promote businesses in the New Tampa area and non-profit organizations, such as PTAs and boy scout troops who help make this event possible every year.

This must-see family focused event featured live entertainment, kid’s activities and lots of fun!  Stay tuned for next year’s event – our 20th Celebration of the Taste of New Tampa!

Press Release: Taste of New Tampa®2012 – Tampa FL 33647

This year, the Taste of New Tampa® 2012 will be held at Wharton High School on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 1-4 p.m.

The Taste of New Tampa® 2012 is the 19th annual New Tampa Health and Business Expo. It is the main membership drive event for the New Tampa Chamber of Commerce.

Every year restaurants from around Wesley Chapel, New Tampa, Tampa Palms, Lutz and Land O’ Lakes set up a booth and offer a demi portion of their partial menu.

This year the Taste of New Tampa® 2012 will use technology to help with ticket presales.  Text message marketing codes will be in place, along with QR Code Marketing. Both of these marketing vehicles will be just one more way that consumers can use technology, get a discount but more importantly, avoid the long lines.

Valpak, YCN (Your Community News), as well as the New Tampa Chamber of Commerce will run separate text numbers in each advertisement.

For presale pricing specials you can text TONT to 41242 to start the process.

This year we expect the crowd on Sunday March 11, 2012 (weather permitting) to be upwards of 6000 – 8000 people with the reach extending to the Wesley Chapel community as well as Land O Lakes and Lutz attracting people who may not normally come to the event through extensive marketing to local residences.

As always, there will be booths of local businesses to offer crafts as well as other businesses to promote their brand. There will also be live entertainment at the Taste of New Tampa® 2012.
